Who am I
My name is Jasmine Grant and I’m currently working on my degree for Digital Media Arts at Clark College. I’ve always had a love for art for as long as I can remember. From painting, pottery creation, jewelry making, and now into the digital world of photography, film making, but most importantly- video editing. I’ve dabbled in many different types of digital art but video editing has become my favorite. From iMovie to Adobe Premiere I’ve grown to love exploring my editing softwares. I used to make mini movies on my family iPad when I was 12 and edited them on iMovie with my own soundtrack and everything. I even found a way to make mini films on my 3DS back in 2011. I always found a way since a very young age to express myself through visual art.
I started studying Digital Media Arts at Clark College in 2023 and am graduating in the spring of 2026. Being at Clark has been quite the journey for me professionally and in my own personal life. I feel confident in my skills with Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop. Those are my main applications. I’ve gained very useful professional skills and beneficial skills but I also gained so much knowledge of who I am as a person. I’m very motivated with my own craft and I tend to be a fast learner and adapter to my environment. My message and what I hope to convey in most of my work is also very important to me. I value authenticity the most in my work. I need the care that I put into my projects to show.
I’ve never been one to back down on most things. In early 2024 I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Only two weeks after my 20th birthday. I was forced to step away and take a break from school for about 6 months and was devastated. The second I got better I stepped right back in and was more eager than ever to get my degree. To achieve my goals. I look at that moment as just a small obstacle. A set-back. I’m now completely cancer free after battling for those very long 6 months and never stopped my love for art, learning, editing, studying, and film. I have so much more love for art and for life in general. Some of my favorite projects have been showcasing life in some way through emotions, music, or people. I want to move people, make them feel what I want to convey. But I’m also okay with my work being left for interpretation. Have people take it the way that works for them.
